IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger Lionel
Brechlin
April 9, 1959 – November 27, 2025
Roger L. Brechlin, 66, of Ogden, Utah, took his final ride after his brave fight against cancer, passing away surrounded by family, friends, and love.
Roger embraced life with a smile, no matter what it handed him. He was a man of quiet strength, warmth, and unwavering kindness. He loved his family and friends deeply and found joy in the simple beauty of the outdoors. Whether he was riding his motorcycle, sketching the natural world, or lending a hand to someone in need, Roger lived with a generous heart and an adventurous spirit.
A natural artist and a true handyman, Roger brought both creativity and skill to everything he did. As a maintenance mechanic, he took pride in fixing what was broken and supporting anyone who needed him. If something was broken—whether an object or a person's spirit—he was there.
Roger was an avid practitioner of Native American traditions. He was especially proud of his work with youth in pipe ceremonies and sweat lodges, where he offered guidance, connection, and a sincere respect for the spiritual practices he held close.
In his final years, Roger took tender and devoted care of his mother, Deanna, whom he loved deeply and prioritized above all else.
Roger married Londa Ross and later adopted Lacey, who brought him great joy and eventually blessed him with his granddaughter, Laila. Though the marriage ended, his love for his daughter and granddaughter remained constant.
Roger is survived by his mother, Deanna Brechlin; his sister Tana Bailey; his brother Neal Brechlin (Julie); nephews and nieces; and his dear friends Milo Simper and Cameron Jatho, who stood by him through life's ups and downs.
He was especially proud of his more than 10 years of sobriety and the meaningful work he did within the AA program, where he found community, purpose, and the opportunity to support others on their journey.
He was preceded in death by his father Riley Olson; his sisters Terrie Olson and Jolene Paige; his brother Gerald Olson; his niece Heather Olson; and his nephew Jacob Satterlee.
A celebration of Roger's life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be invited to gather and honor the love, generosity, and spirit he shared with all who knew him.
