Obituary

Loren Ray Dean Thompson passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 74. Loren was born June 2, 1952, in Ogden, Utah, to Jack Leonard Thompson Sr. and Jean Marie Eddy Thompson Wilcox.

He retired from Kroger after over twenty years in industrial refrigeration maintenance and the hazmat team. Loren was a master problem-solver who could build or fix anything with patience and determination. He loved restoring trucks, working with his hands, watching NASCAR, and above all, spending time with his family.

Loren was preceded in death by his father, Jack Sr.; mother, Jean; stepfather, Earl Wilcox; brother, Jack Jr.; and sister, Jeannie Barney. He is survived by his wife, Christine; sons, Jake and Cyle; stepsons, Nathan McCloskey and Tristan Router; grandchildren, Alexis Weber, Damian Cassell Thompson, and Tony McCloskey; sister, Connie Shupe; and brothers, Randy and Corey.

Special thanks to Canyon Home Care and Hospice, especially Melissa Sharp and Bruce Burrows, for their compassionate care.

His strength, knowledge, and love will remain with us always.

At Loren’s request, no services will be held.
