On September 4, 2022, Craig left us to be with God. He was born in Richfield, UT and passed away at 65 years young. He was the son of Barbara and Dale Barney who preceded him in death along with his sister Charlene Barney.
He is survived by his daughters Hilary Horn, Rachel Barney, Timothy Moody (step son), and Lisa Barney (sister). Family members that also carry on his legacy include Ashley Barney (granddaughter), Brenden Barney (grandson), Tawnie Batchelor (niece), Paityn Child (great niece), and Daxon Rolph (great-nephew).
To tell the story of Craig’s life, is to tell the adventure of a musician. He was a vibrant powerful energy and had amazing musical talent. He was a master self-taught guitar player and it was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments of his adventurous life…“ Right on”.
He held no bias or judgment of anyone and never held onto bad feelings. He was giving and always wanted to help to the best of his ability. He helped everyone around him by cheering them up and making them laugh. No matter where he lived, the entire neighborhood grew fond of him and would visit him regularly or stop him on the street for a fun conversation. He was often referred to as Craton, and you knew if you saw a cat nearby, Craig would be close behind. He had many cats in his life and loved them deeply. Craig also loved raising his chickens, could grow anything, and put a lot of time and energy in planting gardens and taking care of his plants.
Craig had hilarious, accentuated mannerisms and knew how to crack you up even if you were in the worst of moods. He will be deeply missed and cherished by every and anybody who encountered his beautiful soul.
God truly does give his hardest battles to his strongest angels & he was the strongest man we knew. Here’s a menthol cigarette and a Code Red Mountain Dew for you Craton. We love you and miss you so much!
There will be a BBQ celebration of his life at his daughter’s home on September 17, 2022. Family, friends, and caregivers are welcome to come. For address and/or directions, please email Hilary at joyfulhilary@gmail.com
